CWALU Student/Grad/Teacher Spotlight

I have a brag and a share. And they are all wrapped in one book Memoir of a Crazy Cat Lady: My Journey from Air Force Musician to Animal Communicator by Kathy Boyer.

Kathy is a graduate of my CWALU program and one of the teachers! She shared she wanted to write a book and she did. I could not be more proud.

Here is my endorsement for the book:

A book can transport you into a mythical world, or you can see yourself in the protagonist’s tragic flaw(s) as they, ready or not, proceed through the hero’s journey. This book does both. I found myself lost in Kathy’s journey and relating to every step of the way.

Even though Kathy has been a student and graduate of my program, Communication with all Life University, a program that teaches people to communicate with animals and facilitate healing through a few proven modalities, while reading her book, Memoir of a Crazy Cat Lady, I put her in celebrity status!  I found myself wanting to proclaim my sameness in parallel stories yet feeling like Kathy was some distant author. All the while, she is approachable and human in this epic love story. I had to remind myself I could just call her and profess my sameness!!

But I would have picked up the phone with nearly every chapter.

It turns out that I read most of the book on an International flight with no interwebs. So, I couldn’t pick up the phone, nor could I fire off an email. In the end, that scenario was purrfect as I was submerged in each one of Kathy’s stories that were just right.

Sometimes the content was painful, yet the message was just right and in a purrfect progression that I know took a while to craft.

Kathy and I both come from an era where mistakes were made with animals that nowadays someone would say “what were you thinking?” Yet, Kathy gracefully shares exactly what she was thinking and how she felt.

Basically, through some mistakes and much love, Kathy reveals the progression of what an animal lover has gone through to become what I call the animal empath.

Kathy very clearly describes meeting me (later in the book) and what that journey has been. And she tells it from her perspective.

From MY perspective, the moment that Kathy arrived after an incident (which I won’t blow her story line here), to Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. while I was teaching animal communication and EFT (emotional freedom technique), she endured a big loss. This loss colored her experience over the next few days.

Often, it’s those losses that fuel the next step. And she took a big step in becoming an animal communicator and energy healer.

She has known what most people will never know, having a career as an artist and no other day job. Her talent and dedication did that. So it isn’t a big stretch for her to move into this work as an animal communicator. It’s more like a sidestep.

And with this work came much pondering about how she came to this moment.  Lo and behold her reflections were put to the page, each and every cat that delivered her to his current moment has a full character and place in her writing and her world.

Kathy’s spirituality bloom is also highlighted each step of the way. For me it is a refreshing approach. One of the  ‘samenesses’ I share with Kathy is being raised in with a strict Catholic upbringing. While I couldn’t quote scripture like she can, it lives in every cell of my body. Rather than renouncing it, I appreciate her evolution of that being the framework for her current spiritual embodiment, that physically is manifesting in a continuum of cats!!

One more sameness that I know is becoming more present in the world is sharing the all important family value of: animals are family.

I know you will enjoy her journey as much as I did.
