Animals In Transition – Weekly Program Breakdown

Animals In Transition

The Schedule

March 1st: Dwindling down to Preciousville
An animal’s physical decline can take place so gradually that you fail to even notice it—until that moment when you do. You have a cat that you always think of as swinging from the curtain rods (and you have pictures to prove it). Then suddenly one day you realize you can’t remember the last time she jumped up on anything, not even to reach an old favorite napping spot. This is the phase of the animal’s transition that I call dwindling.

Creating “Preciousville” in the home (or barn) when preparing for an animal’s transition is key. It’s a sacred space in which human and animal will share their last days, weeks, or months together fully connected, present and appreciative of every shared moment.

March 8th: From Bucket List to Holding Space
You see the dwindling now and you’re learning how to live together at this stage. One of the best things you can do for your animal during this time is to make their “bucket list” a part of that new way of living. Here I’ll introduce two of the fundamentals of animal communication:

  • The animal’s essence – who it is at its core
  • And its favorite things – what the animal likes to do.

Each of my animal communication sessions begin with gaining an understanding of both of these things, and this is how you will learn some of the things your animal would like to do during its remaining time with you.

There are more active ways to hold space for others as well—such as by having a party! I’ll describe some of the ways people celebrate an animal’s life while it’s still around to enjoy the festivities. The chapter also touches on the fact that other animals in the family often naturally hold space for one another during this time, shifting their energy and behavior to align more closely with the dwindling animal. This is a great time to bring an animal communicator into the mix, someone who can “read the household” and help the human understand how everyone is feeling, what they need, and how to hold space accordingly.

We’ll use Animal Communication to:

  • Get a read on what stage your animal is
  • How to create a checklist with your client for needs
  • Create a bucket list for your client
  • Introduce the idea of holding space

March 15th: Holding Space to the State of Grace
Holding space continues at a more profound level when your animal enters the state of grace, moving into “the world between worlds.” At this point they are likely fully present in this world only some of the time. This is a period when your physical presence is a comfort and a blessing. Joan shares guidance on what this in-between state may look like and how best to attend to your animal companion during this active phase of death in your role as midwife of the transition.
Support the client for what is to come:

  • What is the world between worlds
  • When the Vet Is the Best Choice
  • Coping with Grief and Guilt
  • When Death Comes Suddenly
  • Rituals before, after and during the transition
  • Discussing the levels of Grief
  • Reviewing Guilt

March 22nd: Using EFT to Help the Human with their Grief
One of the very best tools and foundations of the school to help people and animals with their emotional challenges is EFT. Utilizing this tool, specifically for grief and all of the other attendant emotions, is so powerful.

Emotional Freedom Technique is a form of energetic body work that cuts straight to the source of the energetic problem. As you tap on certain acupressure points with a specific intention in mind, the human or animal will experience release at multiple levels – in the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Each chosen acupressure point has a “feel good” aspect to it, it is calming or provides relief. Acupressure points are connected to the meridian system of specific organs, and each organ has an association with an emotion. These points are targeted at relieving the challenging emotions.

Over the course of an EFT session, you use what’s called a “script” that offers an opportunity to break up old patterning. Basically, you tell the animal’s old sad or hard story while tapping on feel-good acupressure points. This allows the animal to begin to release that old story, and then, as you tap, you’ll “install” or imprint a new, healthier story on the same points and channels. No other energy healing modality does this.

In this powerful session we will:

  • Introduce the grief script for the human
  • I’ll demonstrate EFT on a volunteer student
  • We’ll focus on guilt and shame will be a topic
  • I will introduce a self-care checklist for the human(s) supporting the transition

March 29: Using Eft to Help the Animal or the Remaining Family Members with Their Grief
If we think EFT is powerful for humans, it is even more powerful for animals. This will be an amazing session as I will reveal:

  • A grief script for the animal in transition
  • Demonstrations of EFT on a volunteer student’s animal
  • Discussion around using the grief script for remaining family members and their grief
  • How to create a support system for the remaining animals
  • A “new normal” checklist for the human(s) to support the other animals and humans that are going through the transition as well

April 5th: Using Energy Healing Scalar Wave Technique to Support the Human
Energy Healing with Scalar Wave energy offers powerful opportunities for healing. Scalar energy, an energy without frequencies, was referred to by Tesla over 100 years ago. Dr. Valerie Hunt developed a technique, using focused intent, that could be used to create and disperse scalar waves throughout a person’s physical/energetic systems. This technique she developed activates the body’s self-healing mechanisms, and her experience has shown it can assist the body in eliminating pain, healing traumatized tissues, disease and even release stored emotion. Dr. Hunt called scalar energy a “source energy that directly influences all bodily tissue”.

We will:

  • Use the Scalar Wave Energy Healing technique to support the human
  • Learn how to set the tone for the household
  • Use Scalar Wave Energy Healing before, after and during the animal companion’s transition

Break for the Renewal Spring Intensive April 14th – 22nd (No Class)

April 26th: Using Energy Healing Scalar Wave Technique to Support the Animal Companion
Excerpted from Communication with all Life (Hay House) by Joan Ranquet:
A friend called because her dog, Smooch, was in terrible shape after what most of us (herself, her vet, and other healers) concluded was the result of ingesting the herbicide, Roundup. The dog was in the hospital in Orlando on fluids. Shannon asked me to work on Smooch. I told her at the time what I tell everyone about an animal in such a critical state: this may help the animal stay here and be healthier, but it could also make the crossing more blissful.
Though she was distraught, she also knew this was how it had to be. Prior to that night, if we did energy work on the dog, he had some immediate relief in the form of passing urine. So we all had some glimmer of hope regarding helping Smooch to stay here.
I ran the energy and it was like floating through his system. When I got to the chakras (see page TK), not only was I trying to give them a spin in a clockwise manner, I was trying to put the proper colors in place and all I could see was white, the most glorious white as if somebody had a spotlight on them, reflecting back up to me. I brought the energy in, but it felt like it was falling back out. I was aware of somebody being very upset as if Western Medicine had failed them, but I thought that was odd and kept trying to get it out of my head.
About five minutes later the phone rang. It was Shannon in Orlando. She said that Smooch had crossed over a few minutes ago. She also said that the vet had called her in hysterics, upset with how hard she tried, and yet failed, to save him. We all had done the best we could, and Smooch had a glorious passing, so she really didn’t fail.
That friend is our dear Shannon. This class will be taught by her. It will be beyond powerful as she knows what this energy harnesses and heals.

She will review:

  • The technique for an animal
  • When to use the scalar before and during the transition
  • What to expect in the chakras and energy field during a transition
  • After the animal companion’s Transition how to support the other animals

May 3rd: Using EFT Tapping
We’ll continue with our EFT work, this time to help with the trauma of either an accident or the final days of the animal’s life

May 10th: Memorializing the Animal
Even if the animal is still alive we’ll be writing love letters and using other tools and techniques to honor the animal

May 24th: Animals sent from Beyond and Reincarnation
Part of the big mystery!

Each class will include checklists, PDF’s, exercises and homework. There will be meditations, animal communication and energy healing as well.
