Shadow

Bonnie’s dog, Shadow, passed away January 23, 2012.

Shadow was 18 years and 4 months old when his body shut down from damage caused by heart, kidney, and pancreatic disease. He leaves his beloved, grateful mommy, Bonnie Gabowitz, and his energetic dog mate Mitzi, with wonderful memories of his life as a wise soul, a healer, and a playful dog. In his most recent years, he gained the reputation in the medical arena as tenacious, cooperative, personable, quirky, and the most dedicated, loving pet companion anyone would ever hope to have.

He leaves behind his loving playmates and the dedicated staff at Arbor Dog DayCare.

His human relatives in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and in Palm Beach County, Florida, as well as his Auntie Diane and Uncle Frank Sclafani of Vero Beach, Florida, will all miss him. His best friend Sara Ann preceded him in death.

Those wishing to convey their sympathy and support are invited to write to her. She can be reached at 1416 Brookfield Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, or called at 734.730.3386. Contributions may be made to any humane society or no-kill shelter.

Bonnie’s favorite memories include the games Shadow created while playing alone (Place the ball in anything and retrieve it), and his ball games with Sara Ann -“Get the ball, Hold it, Drop it, Take it away!” It was amazing to Bonnie how he set up his own rules of the game. He loved licking his mom’s skin and seemed to relish the taste. He helped his elderly relative overcome her fear of dogs simply by being SHADOW: THE ZEN MASTER SOUL.
